          Biography of Stoyan Delchev

          Stoyan Delchev, a Bulgarian gymnast, was born in 1959 in Plovdiv.

          He started practicing gymnastics at the age of seven and trained under the guidance of Nikola Nikolov from 1972. He served in the army and graduated from the National Sports Academy.

          He competed at the Summer Olympics in Moscow where he received a gold medal in horizontal bar and a bronze medal in all-around individual.

          Two years later, at the World Championships in Strasbourg, Stoyan Delchev won two bronze medals in the pommel horse and parallel bars events.
