          The wife of actor Nigel Havers has died following a four-year battle with ovarian cancer.

          5. Polly Havers, 54, died on Thursday with her husband by her side.

          Nigel, who has starred in a host of TV shows including The Charmer and Dangerfield, put his career on hold in recent years to help care for his wife.

          The actor's brother, barrister Philip Havers, said: "She showed astonishing courage and fortitude. She had an indomitable will right up to the end."

          Havers' personal assistant, Julia Forsyth, said: ""It's been four years of struggle.

          Doctors diagnosed ovarian cancer and a secondary tumour on the former model's stomach four years ago.
